MASTER LLOYD IRVIN’S SECRET FORMULA WORKS AGAIN AS LIMAA’S KIDS AND TEENS CAPTURE ANOTHER NAGA TITLE.

On my travels to different tournaments over the years, I have seen many different formulas for team success. Some have produced some outstanding competitors and some have not. But only one has produced an outstanding program. But let me first describe what type of program that I am referring to. A program that involves taking a child from knowing nothing and teaching them to reach their potential.

Most Martial Arts schools teach this type of program, right?

Well if you really break down what I am saying, no they don’t. Let me first go over this fantastic weekends events and then I will give you Master Lloyd’s “Secret Formula.”

First let me start by congratulating all of the kids and teens who put it on the line for our team win, lose or draw. I assure you that the toughness that it takes to go out on the mat against opponents whom you may never seen before takes courage and for that I thank you.

The Beginners of team Lloyd Irvin were relentless as they captured medal after medal. Top Performers were: Somora Poe, Moises Maittre, Noah Konohia, Jamil Hill-Taylor, Dereka Anderson, and Jabbar Hussie. Jabbar, Jamil, Noah and Moises all captured their very first gold medals.

The Intermediate Team consisted of just Courtney Edwards, Nathaniel Edwards, and Andrea Smith. All turned in fantastic performances, but the most impressive was that of Courtney as he captured two first place titles. His younger brother Nathaniel also brought home a gold in his division.
Team Lloyd Irvin’s Big Dogs and current National and World “Expert Division” NAGA Champions were simply AWESOME. But don’t take my word for it, we will be posting individual and team highlights on THIS SITE very soon.

Understand, that if we had 10 cameras at the tournament, we still couldn’t have caught all of the phenomenal highlights that our kids performed. What you missed if you weren’t there is Ti-Jean Awad’s complete DOMINATION of the 70 lbs weight class as he literally tossed kids into submissions, bringing home two titles.

Ti-jean Wins and Ross gets 3rd in the Expert BJJ Division!

Of course you already saw above Carlo’s performance. He contributed two expert division titles to the team. Team stand-out and 2005 Number 1 Rated Grappler in the country, Ryan Villogram added two silvers and a gold medal to the mix. Cedric Bryant also brought a gold and bronze medal to the table. Jazmine Marable captured her first teen title. But the story of the tournament beeelooonnngggss toooooo……..!!!

CORY WALKER

Cory was just too much for the N.A.G.A. to handle as he captured both titles in his kids expert division before entering the teen advanced division. The division consisted of only Cory, who is 13 years old, and his opponent, a 16 year old Blue Belt. Many of the onlookers watched in amazement as Cory methodically dismantled his much bigger opponent with a vast array of Jiu-jitsu excellence. Their was the armbar attempt that transitioned from the triangle. There was the X-Guard sweep attempt that transitioned to a “Shaolin Styel” superman. Add a couple of guard passes and you have a NEW TEEN champion!!!

The entire team did great! Some great performances were also turned in by: Angelo Claiborne, Malachi Edmond, and Krystal Allen.

What is the SECRET FORMULA you ask?

What sets us apart from the other teams is simple. We concentrate on what’s important. It is the experience of the tournament that is important. The lessons learned. The wins will come and so will the losses. We train to win, but we also train to continue learning. And most importantly, WE HAVE FUN!

YOUR 2006 NAGA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

Next up for Team Lloyd Irvin is a possible visit to Vegas to compete in the very tough “Grappler’s Quest West” Tourney. Good Luck.
