Team Lloyd Irvin has another great day at the WKA National Championships in Hampton, VA

The youth and teens of Team Lloyd Irvin registered their 3rd consecutive dominant performance of 2006.

Leading the charge was 2005′s number one RATED grappler in the country, Ryan Villogram. Ryan won both of his divisions and wowed the crowd with a standing seio-nage that had the fans in the stands on their feet.
Krystal Allen returned after a 6 month hiatus and captured both divisioin titles.

Carlo Levell steamrolled through both of his divisions, submitting all of his opponents including one arm-bar that he applied 5 seconds into the match!

Cedric Bryant continues his winning ways by submitting all of his opponents, securing the gold medals in both of his divisions as well.

Brendan Parent simply tore up the 40 lbs wieght class. He won both divisions while submitting everyone in sight.

Cory Walker and Aarae Alexander were forced fight eachother 3 times in 3 separate divisions and finished with Cory coming off the winner with a two to one split. Talk about a war, there were only 2 points scored in all 3 matches combined. Both Cory and Aarae submitted all of their other opponents.

Angelo “The Truck” Claiborne, 11 years old, won his No Gi division after having to defeat a 15 year old! He continues to be a takedown machine.

Also winning his very first tournament was Donques Young. He won both of his divisions and captured two gold medals.

Two of Team Lloyd Irvin’s prodigies are making the jump from teen to adult in a major way. Steven Brown continues to progress nicely winning the men’s intermediate division and then finished 3rd in the Men’s Gi division respectively.

Pedro(polis) Vasconcelos, at 15 years old, was simply “THE MAN” at this tournament. Pedro had 8 matches, won all by submission, won 4 gold medals which included two mens divisions and had a ridiculous flying triangle to armbar submission. This kid is just plain scary!

Many of the other competitors performend nicely but ended up on the short end of the stick when having to compete in matches against their teamates.

Ti-Jean Awad won 2 silvers losing only to his training partner Cedric Bryant in both finals matches. All of Ti-jeans victories ended by submission. Malachi Edmond finished with a silver medal after losing a very exciting match to Krystal Allen. Jabbar Hussie came away with 2 silver medals.

Also making a great showing was Keona Williams. Keona has been out for over a year as she was adjusting to a new school, but now she’s back and ready pick up where she left off, capturing a bronze medal. Also competing at this tournament was Somora, Jasmine Marable, Berdia Monk, Brandon Groce, Duke Snider, Nikki Muggins, Julian Groce, Isaiah Edmond, Kobe Adolph, and A.J. Harrell. All competitors looked great and every one put in their best effort at this event. Needless to say that Team Lloyd Irvin also took home the team title as well.
