2007 No-Gi World Champion!

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Competing in his final tournament of the year, Ryan Hall ended things on a high note.

The first CBJJ-sactioned No-Gi Mundial (world championships) drew top competitors from all over the world as they battled for the title of World Champion.

Though he weighed in nearly 9 lbs light for his division, Ryan made short work of his first three opponents, finishing with a triangle, a rear naked choke, and a brabo choke in about a total of 6 minutes. In the finals, he faced off against a tough Brazilian from the Nova Geracao team, Marcel Goncalves. Changing up his gameplan, Ryan out-wrestled his opponent, defending a shot, snapping him down, and spinning behind to take the back for 4 points…or so it would seem. After nearly 6 minutes of being on his opponent’s back, Ryan was finally awarded the points for his position. After a scramble that ended in Ryan’s guard, the time expired, and in spite of some interesting refereeing, Ryan was the 2007 purple belt no-gi World Champion!

A big thanks from Ryan goes out to his friend, Johnny Ramirez (New Breed Jiu-Jitsu), for coaching him during his matches!

Do you want to become a World Champion? Or do you just want to get into the best shape of your life? Well we have an amazing offer that you won’t want to miss, we’re giving away a whole bunch of FREE STUFF, you just gotta see it for yourself

Team Lloyd Irvin also would like to give a shout out to “GAZZY” who trained with us for her come back to competition as she also became a No Gi World Champion this past weekend. (All of those trips to the trash can paid off Gazzy!)
