Have a great holiday everyone! Enjoy yourselves and BE SAFE!
To those who made it through the 1st phase of the grueling “Team Lloyd Irvin BJJ White Belt Competition Team” tryouts the other night, use the break to focus on RECOVERY, because your 1st official competition team practice is Wednesday evening!
Everyone else, if you need a workout, there are plenty of “at-home” workouts you can do with your own bodyweight - you don’t even need equipment! (By the way, you should check out http://www.LloydIrvinLive.com/NHBtraining.html and read the entire letter from 41-year-old Team Lloyd Irvin BJJ Black Belt Mike Moses - he’s ripped!)
Here’s a great workout you can do at home to work off the extra holiday calories.
Warm-Up for 5-10 minutes (jog in place, jumping jacks, push-ups, crunches, squats). Once you start to sweat and feel comfortable enough to start, get to it!
These exercises are to be done one after another with zero rest until the workout is completed.
10 Jumping Jacks, 10 Mountain Climbers, 10 Push-ups, 10 Crunches
9 Jumping Jacks, 9 Mountain Climbers, 9 Push-ups, 9 Crunches
… keep it going all the way down to 1 rep each, then try to work your way back up to 10 reps.
Cool down and stretch for 5-10 minutes, clean yourself up and go eat something healthy with quality protein and carbs!
This is a great workout and will get you sweating, breathing hard and will keep your muscles burning!
If you need to substitute one or two of the exercises for different ones, that’s fine too… when you’re advanced you can be more creative with your workouts!
Give that a try this weekend.
See you Tuesday!
